I am a Maryland-born academic and creative writer based in Terre Haute, Indiana, though I have been lucky enough to write in over 30 countries. In my professional world, I work with assessment and mentoring for college students. In my home life, I publish travel articles, flash fiction, and short stories. I recently completed my first novel, a work of historical fiction, as an artist in residence at Chulitna Wilderness Lodge in Alaska. I have begun writing a second book (crime fiction) while revising the first. My work has appeared in Crack the Spine, Nanoism, Terse, The Eunoia Review, The Molotov Cocktail, Fiction on the Web, Scarlet Leaf Review, As You Were, SubTerranean, and Esthetic Apostle. I am a Max Ehrmann Poetry Award recipient, though I do not consider myself a poet.
